Peet Bekker

✍️ Author & Illustrator | Extreme prayer-walker | Storyteller of faith

Peet Bekker is a South African author and illustrator whose work is deeply rooted in faith. He is known for his accessible and engaging writing style, with a strong focus on simplicity and readability.

His children's book, Huppeldruppel, is written using only 233 words from a Grade 1 and 2 vocabulary list, making it ideal for beginner readers. To support young learners, he designed the playful font Lilla Letter Lover, which helps bridge the gap between handwriting and printed text.

Peet also writes narrative books such as Genadelose Paaie vol Genade and Fort Mistake, which reflect personal, observational storytelling. He describes himself as an “extreme prayer-walker,” and his writing often explores themes of faith and community – not only in rural South Africa but across Africa and around the world.
